When upgrading to a new more efficient cooling and heating system for your home, Polar Aire can install an efficient and cost effective heating/cooling system to fit your needs. Our systems include cooling, heating, air cleaners, thermostats, indoor air quality and accessories.

Maintenance

Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L) Cool Homes Program

The Kansas City Power & Light Cool Homes Program is a residential central air-conditioning instant rebate program that helps KCP&L customers maintain the operating efficiency of central A/C systems and offset the cost of a new high-efficiency system. The Cool Homes Program helps customers save energy and promote a cleaner, greener environment.

How the Program Works

Rebates are applied, per system, toward the purchase of a high-efficiency A/C or heat pump though Polar Aire - a Cool Homes certified contractor.
KCP&L customers may qualify for basic maintenance services to help tune-up qualifying equipment, even if they do not purchase a new system.

Eligibility

Cool Homes is available to any KCP&L customer in Kansas or Missouri receiving a residential electric rate, including single and multi-family homes.
Window or portable air-conditioners do not qualify for rebates or tune-ups.
Cool Homes rebates are only available to customers whose central air-conditioner or heat pump is working during the evaluation. Any malfunctioning or "dead" A/C equipment cannot be tested, and may not be eligible for a rebate.
Only systems with a nameplate or operating EER of 8.0 or less are eligible for replacement. This can only be determined after a Polar Aire technician completes a test of the cooling system.
